Meeting Draws Hundreds of Residents as Re-Development Plans for
Errol Estate & Country Club Move Next to City Council For Final Approval
APOPKA, FL (March 21, 2018) – Signature H Property Group announced today that it has received the unanimous recommendation of the Apopka City Planning Commission Board to move forward in its extensive re-development plans of New Errol, including the much-anticipated Staghorn Club & Lodge. The Planning Commission meeting took place yesterday evening at the VFW Community Center in Apopka, drawing large crowds and requiring the meeting be moved from its regularly scheduled location at City Hall.
“We’re very pleased and honored that the Apopka City Planning Commission has unanimously approved and recommended our plans for New Errol and Staghorn, as we are truly excited to get to the next step of City Council approval and begin ground breaking on the new projects, beginning with the golf course,” said Helmut Wyzisk III, vice president of Signature H Property Group, the developers of New Errol and the Staghorn Club & Lodge. “This is a clear signal that the community understands the revitalization that this property needs and has the confidence in what our extensive and experienced team has put forth to turn New Errol and Staghorn into an exciting, beautiful, and thriving development for not just its residents, but for the entire city of Apopka as well.”
The Apopka City Planning Commission is a local planning agency and consists of seven non-elected members that prepare and make recommendations to the City Council on the City’s Comprehensive Plan, land use and land use map amendments, development plans, and rezonings. Signature H Property Group has presented at multiple meetings showcasing its extensive development plans for a completely redesigned world-class 18-hole golf course; a brand new clubhouse and lodge featuring restaurants, bars, retail shops, a boutique hotel and much more; a resort-style water park; new luxury residences; an assisted living/post-acute care rehab facility; beautiful new public spaces, parks and walking trails; and more.
Several long-time residents of Errol publically voiced their appreciation at the meeting for the reasonable and well thought-out redevelopment plan that Signature H has put forth and cited support for the project saying “it’s the last and best hope for Errol Estate” and “we’re looking forward to its success both financially as well as for the pleasure of the residents and visitors.”
“We feel this unanimous vote reflects the amount of time, effort and community relations that Signature H has put into this well-envisioned plan to make sure it not only brings much-needed amenities to the area but also that they fit seamlessly into the existing neighborhoods as well as possible,” said Larry Klein, a partner with Signature H and 30-year resident of Apopka and Errol Estate. “Signature H has put together a most impressive team of planners, designers and building contractors and has spent countless hours talking directly with Errol residents to understand their needs, their concerns and their overall excitement about where we’re headed.”
Signature H and its management and development team will be presenting at the upcoming Special Meeting for the Apopka City Council at 5:30pm on March 27th at the VFW Community Center at 519 S. Central Avenue in Apopka. All residents are encouraged and welcomed to attend to ask questions and show continued support for New Errol and the Staghorn Club & Lodge.
